Kiwi kids – Santa awaits your letters

Kiwi kids – Santa awaits your letters

Twas a month before Christmas, as all round the land
Kiwi kids took pen or pencil in hand
Their eyes oh so bright and their hopes oh so high
That their wish might be met by the big bearded guy.

Some adults may scoff, but our children know better
And so they sit down to write Santa a letter
And in the pure hearts of these sweet girls and boys
Are fond wishes for family, for friends... and for toys.

They seal up their letters, and stick on a stamp
Then off to the red and white postbox they tramp,
These letters explaining what children want most
Are whisked off to the North Pole by New Zealand Post.

The letters are packed up in sacks on a sleigh
Escorted by posties and elves all the way
They’re flown round the world at top speed without pause
Direct to the mailbox of ‘Mr S. Claus’.

Tho’ he can’t always grant every single request
He writes back to each child (if they give their address)
A letter from Santa – oh what a delight!
"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!"

Address your Letter to Santa to:
Santa Claus
Santa's Workshop
North Pole 0001
Don't forget to include your name and full postal address.

Or visit nzpost.co.nz - click on the link to “Send a letter to Santa”, and fill in the online form.

With the assistance of the Royal New Zealand Foundation of the Blind, New Zealand Post can also arrange special letters (in braille or large print) for children who are blind or have low vision. Visit the New Zealand Post website for details.

Letters to Santa must be posted by Friday 14 December to ensure a response before Christmas.
