Tuborg Sounds On - Killer Lineup, All for a Wicked Price

TUBORG SOUNDS ON FESTIVAL
- KILLER LINEUP, ALL FOR A WICKED PRICE

Tuborg Sounds On – The Oval (formerly Summer Sunday) returns in 2013 on the new date of Saturday 23rd March at The Oval, North Harbour Stadium, North Shore City.

The festival features a sweltering lineup at a game-changing price:

The Black Seeds, Home Brew, Katchafire, David Dallas, TrinityRoots, AHoriBuzz, Tahuna Breaks, Tiki Taane (Acoustic Set), Dan Aux & Tali, DJ Sir-Vere ft. Che Fu, PNC & K One, Kong Fooey ft. Maitreya.

Earlybird tickets are a sizzling $45 (cost includes travel on event buses and trains, booking fee, RFID wristbands and free Tuborg Sounds On sampler download) available exclusively from GrabOne for 7 days from Monday 26th November.

To reduce emissions, congestion and provide punters with a fuss-free, safe and affordable transport option, travel on special event buses and public trains within Auckland to the venue will be included in ticket prices, thanks to Auckland Transport.

Tuborg Sounds On will also be nurturing the sustainable ethos it forged at Summer Sunday by once again teaming up with Sustainable Coastlines. The award-winning organisation will be overseeing the execution of a range of environmental initiatives.

In addition, Massey University has come to the party and will be offering a student special ticket price of $40 + booking fee. The student special is available only to Massey Uni students when purchased on the Albany campus with a Student ID.

Carefully curated, the event brings together a raft of Aotearoa’s favourite acts – from the well established and respected, to the trailblazing and burgeoning.

Having just finished international tours and taken home Tuis for “Best Roots Album” and “Best Urban/Hip Hop Album” at the 2012 NZ Music Awards respectively, The Black Seeds and Home Brew will be storming the Sounds On stage to deliver blazing sets that Upper North Islanders won’t have had the chance to catch for months prior.

Off the back of a US tour and residency, and after releasing his EP, Buffalo Man, David Dallas will be performing one of just a few highly-anticipated sets on home soil this summer.

Katchafire and TrinityRoots will be delivering their much loved rootsy, classics, Tahuna Breaks will be serving up funked up tracks off their soon-to-be released third album and Tiki Taane will be treating audiences to a particularly intimate, acoustic set.

Live favourites, AHoriBuzz, will be dropping their signature groove-ridden and crowd-arousing jams while; well-known George FM DJ and Selectah, Dan Aux will be stoking the fire and bringing the heat with a set of banging tunes that feature the vocal stylings of iconic Drum n Bass MC and stalwart, Tali.

Rounding off the lineup will be DJ Sir-Vere’s Hip Hop Karaoke Machine featuring the weighty, and need-no-introduction MC talents of Che Fu, PNC and K One; plus mysterious newcomer DJ crew, Kong Fooey who along with MC and hype man, Maitreya will be busting out a set of fresh produce sprinkled with fat classics.

Happening a mere 20 minutes North of Auckland City on the well-manicured grounds of The Oval, Tuborg Sounds On will bring together the best NZ live acts and sustainability to create the perfect close to the 2013 Kiwi summer.
