PRESS RELEASE
Christchurch Lands 150th Success
Two young film makers from Christchurch have made their mark in crowdfunding history, as the 150th project funded through local platform, PledgeMe.
Isaac Pawson and George Bates crowdfunded the post production costs for their short film, Landed, which will focus on issues close to their hearts - being teenagers.
“Getting that unexpected email to say that our project had been funded was such a rewarding experience” says Landing producer George Bates. “Knowing our family, friends, and supporters believed in us to get our project off the ground was simply amazing.”
Landed is one of many creative projects coming out of earthquake shaken Christchurch.
“It’s so exciting to see a creative renaissance coming out of Christchurch” says PledgeMe co-founder Anna Guenther. “It’s great to be able to celebrate Christchurch as well as this milestone”.
The PledgeMe platform is growing from strength to strength, exceeding $650,000 pledged by 10,000 supporters.
