Broadcast Sponsor Ford New Zealand as key partners for
The X Factor NZ, coming to TV3 in 2013.
MediaWorks TV chief executive, Paul Maher says the network is delighted to welcome the blue chip group of partners to what will be the television event of 2013.
"The X Factor NZ is true event television,” he says. “The commercial partners are an essential part of The X Factor format. These will be multi-platform partnerships that celebrate excellence and Kiwi creativity, while engaging our audience right across the MediaWorks assets.
“Broadcast Sponsor Ford worked with TV3 on the network’s first big format series, the highly successful New Zealand’s Next Top Model, and it’s great to have them on board as we shift up a gear to The X Factor NZ.
“MediaWorks TV has long-standing relationships with McDonald’s and Coca-Cola. I want to welcome them both to this exciting project.”

The X Factor NZ will be hosted by Dominic Bowden. Multi-platinum recording artist Stan Walker is the first announced member of what will be a four-person judging panel.
Entry information is now available online, as well as details of the pre-audition tour, which takes place in early 2013. Starting in Queenstown on January 5, and finishing in Kaitaia on Waitangi Day, The X Factor NZ will travel to 27 locations throughout New Zealand to find contestants for the first local version of the global television phenomenon.
The X Factor NZ is a SYCO owned format and will be co-produced by MediaWorks and FremantleMedia Australia. Ford New Zealand is the Broadcast Sponsor, with McDonald’s and Coca-Cola partners. NZ on Air is a minority funder of the show.

The X Factor NZ is open to singers of aged 14 and up, either solo performers or groups. Contestants who make it through the audition process are split into categories – Boys under 25, Girls under 25, the over 25s and the Groups. Each category is mentored by one of The X Factor NZ judges, who work alongside the contestants as they compete for a prize that includes a recording contract with Sony Music Entertainment New Zealand.
