Wind and Weather by Michele Leggot
Wind and Weather by Michele Leggot
Edward Thomas Evans
Michele Leggott’s latest poems explore the death of her great-grandfather in Devonport in 1891.
Edward Evans was a respected school principal from Taranaki, but his death remains a mystery. What was he doing in Devonport? Why did his wife hasten to take his body home by sea? Left with seven children, what went through her mind on that sad voyage?
Frances Edmond and Cathy Gunn join Michele to perform the poems in three voices. Michele invites local historians to contribute their knowledge about Devonport to the story.
