After recording some songs in as far as Los Angeles, California the female lead rock band from Auckland The Neo-Kalashnikovs have digitally released their debut album "She's on Heat". As lead singer Volita Bioletti puts it she wants to give away the album as a free instant download to promote their music to a wider audience;

"The Neos are all about people enjoying what we do, not to say that our music is going to be for everyone, but we just want rock fans to have instant access to our music, no barriers holding it back and if it resonates well that's what it's all about, resonating".

After finishing recording at "The Lab" with Olly Harmer, the engineer behind "The Naked and Famous and Anika Moa" the bulk of the record was made. Moss Bioletti the drummer of The Neo-Kalashnikovs says;

"Yeah, we'd done some sessions in California when we were playing the clubs over there and then did a quick session with Justin James at Tonewheel Studios in Point Chev. After being really happy with what we had made we decided to record another 5 songs and release all the tracks as our debut album 'She's on Heat' , people have no idea how much effort it takes to put out a first release, we have decided to not be picky and just go for it! Perfectionism is what's killing the industry. Now that we have done it we're actually working on our next release, it has given us the confidence to release as quickly as we like, dammit we could be dead tomorrow! We've sorted out 3 songs so far including 'Feed the Reaper' a fan classic, 'Rock 'n' Roll Friend' (a Go-Betweens cover) and a raw version of "I'm a Wreck" recorded at The Lab. The band will be heading into the studio to record soon.The album is untitled at the moment but it is guaranteed to be awesome indie rock and roll just like "She's on Heat."
