Laneway Festival Announcement Advent Calendar – Peeling back square 2 of 6
Ok, so you know the drill, St Jerome’s Laneway Festival are announcing 6 more acts to their already super-exciting artist line-up. We are comparing the process to a Christmas Advent Calendar – because you get a treat each week. Last week we announced KINGS OF CONVENIENCE, and by the looks of it, it seems the duo from Norway have lots of fans here in NZ due to the overwhelming positive response we have had from the announcement.
Todays announce is just as exciting (Imagine peeling back a little square of cardboard on a Christmas advent calendar)
A PLACE TO BURY STRANGERS
A Place To Bury Strangers have often been called "the loudest band in New York". This may very well be the case, but unlike much so-called "loud" rock and roll that's out there, APTBS is not loud simply for the sake of it.
The sonically overdriven sound they've accomplished is no clumsy accident, but a carefully cultivated and well-maintained entity all its own, fostered by an unbridled passion that's clearly evident in every live show they play and each recording they make.
Laneway NZ are excited about seeing APTBS in Auckland – punters may recognize the bass player, ex pat Dion Lunadon, formally of the NZ band The D4.
