In what was the closest of finishes, the judge declared that either Savvy Dancer (Savabeel), Jeu de Cartes (Stravinsky) or the late finishing Spiro (Pyrus), who flew the last 200 metres, could have claimed the event before the official result was announced.
The win was Savvy Dancer’s fourth of his 21 start career and his first at stakes level, giving his sire Savabeel his 20th stakes winner. It has been a successful week for the sire son of Zabeel with racing last weekend at Riccarton seeing his daughter Ray’s Girl win the Listed Canterbury Stakes.

Smart three-year-old Silveron Warrior (ex Miss Muga) looked every bit a rising talent for trainer Leslie Khoo in Singapore, taking his third victory from just six starts last night at Kranji in the $55,000 Class 4 Stakes over 1600 metres.
“It’s never easy for the three-year-olds to be giving weight to older horses and win, but this horse was able to do that today,” said Khoo.
“He keeps improving all the time and I am going to continue stepping him up in distance. He’s a handy horse.”
