Artists show photo alternatives

Works by artists and photographers from Japan, the United States and New Zealand, including students and faculty from the Quay School of the Arts and the Graphic Design School, are now showing in Alternatives Relocated 2012.

The biennial photographic exhibition sponsored by the Quay School of Art Whanganui UCOL, opened on Friday and runs to Saturday 27 October at the Quay School Edith Gallery on Taupo Quay across from the Community Art Centre.

Represented in the exhibition are a wide range of photographic explorations including pinhole camera images, plastic Holga cameras pictures and a sampling of various antique processes such as VanDyke Brown and Cyanotype. Also on display will be a range of contemporary digital images.

Alternatives Relocated is open from 11.00am – 1.00pm.

The exhibition will culminate with a prize-giving for merit in photographic media at the Edith Gallery at 5.30pm on Thursday 25 October.
