If You Find It, Keep It
The thrill of the chase is often what appeals to avid hunters and the quest to find two new utes hidden somewhere in the country is causing a stir in rural areas.
More than 16,000 people have so far registered to search for the two D-MAX utes in an online launch promotion being run by Isuzu.
If hunters are able to decipher video clues and find the vehicles they get to keep them. There is one located in each island.
Fabled outdoorsman Davey Hughes of clothing label Swazi is fronting the hunt and says people are already scouring the countryside looking for the utes.
“The hunt has struck a chord with people and I’ve had farmers get in touch saying people are knocking on their door asking if the D-MAX is on their land. It’s great to see the level of enthusiasm out there,” Hughes said.
Hughes said he would continue to release clues to find the utes in videos for the rest of the month.
Hughes said they had provided transcripts of the videos to a deaf hunter who wanted to be involved and had also heard of people using computer programmes to analyse the videos looking for the clues.
“We’ve hidden them pretty well and they won’t be easy to find but if you use your smarts, all the information you need to find each D-MAX will be there,” he said.
