Red Bull Doodle Art Winners Announced!
After much deliberation and a few giggles, the winners have been announced for Red Bull Doodle Art, an innovative on-campus doodling competition that saved students from the everlasting boredom of long lectures for two weeks.
Auckland Universities Anna Northey took out first place with the grand prize of a personalized Red Bull fridge skinned with her doodle, and a year's supply of the energy drink. The second place winner won a tray of Red Bull and all winners received a canvas recreation of their artwork.
The drawing skills of Auckland University, Unitec, AUT University, Massey Wellington, Victoria University and Canterbury University were tested and the top 40 doodles were chosen by judges from Red Bull and Huffer. Galleries popped up at competing campuses where fellow students voted for their favourite piece.
This week, Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch had combined final doodle exhibitions, where the top doodlers from each university were invited to admire other student's creative work and await the winning doodlers of 2012 to be awarded. Auckland's exhibition was held at Cassette Nine and each University had three winners.
