Wellington art co-operative,
ARTrove, is helping ensure there are no post-WOW blues for
locals this month by holding a new group exhibition.
The
group’s latest art exhibition will showcase the work of 10
talented Wellington artists. It is being held from Tuesday
October 16 until Saturday October 20 in the foyer of the
Asteron Centre, opposite Wellington Railway
Station.
ARTrove was started in 2011 by three Wellington
artists, Adele Eagleson, Karen Hamilton-Smith and Kirsty
Fyfe, who are all passionate about creativity and about
sharing affordable art with the public.
ARTrove’s first exhibition was held during the Rugby World Cup 2011 and included the work of nine local artists.
“We
came up with the name ARTrove because we wanted to bring a
treasure trove of local art to various spaces throughout
Wellington. Last year’s show was in the St James and now
we’re moving further north to showcase in the Asteron
Centre. We want to bring affordable art of a limited number
of artists to different locations around the city. It gives
people a taste of the talent that we have in this city,”
said Kirsty Fyfe.
The work of the following artists will
be on show:
Paul Vincent
Sue Lund
Karina
Rossiter
Kylie Law
Amanda Smart
Sue Malthus
Sam
Walker
Adele Eagleson
Karen Hamilton-Smith
Kirsty
Fyfe
There will be a wide range of artwork for sale,
including abstract, figurative and whimsical paintings and
etchings. Prices will range from NZ$50 to $3,000.
