Updated Kiwis Media Schedule
Cairns, Australia, October 7, 2012 – The 19-man Kiwis squad for Saturday’s Test against the Kangaroos assembled in Cairns, Australia, today. Players flew in from Auckland, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney, arriving around lunchtime.
The squad was given a tweaked traditional welcome into the city, with a local group delivering a performance outside the team Hotel that merged Maori, Cook Island, Tongan and Samoan dance elements. The challenge laid down in the performance was greatly appreciated by the players and also by a large gathering of tourists, who weren't quite sure what was happening but were relieved that Frank Pritchard and Sam Kasiano weren't agitated by proceedings.
The first afternoon in camp was a busy one with medicals, a pool session to help get over the flights, team meetings and dinner at the Hotel.
The team trains at Stan Williams Park in Cairns on Monday at the revised time of 9.45am. Players available for interview at the ground immediately post-training are Greg Eastwood, Krisnan Inu, Sam Perrett and NRL Grand Final winner Kevin Proctor.
