SBS Bank Cromwell Golf Club to host top NZ golfers.
The SBS Bank Cromwell Golf Club is pleased to announce it will host the South Island pre-qualifying round of NZ PGA Pro-Am Championship.
The pre-qualifying round will be held at the Cromwell Golf Course on Monday, February 25, 2013, before the NZ PGA Pro-Am tournament is held at The Hills three days later.
SBS Bank Cromwell Branch Manager Lynn Manson said the announcement had been a real coup for the Club.
“Over the past three years the SBS Bank Cromwell Golf Club has undergone a major redevelopment and upgrade costing $1 million. The course looks fantastic and should prove a real challenge for those golfers competing in the pre-qualifying round.
“SBS Bank is pleased to sponsor such a vibrant club as its part of our commitment to help our local communities prosper,” Mrs Manson said.
SBS Bank Cromwell Golf Club Manager Graham Mercer said it was hoped the pre-qualifying tournament would attract international golfers.
“We’re aware that there has been interest from overseas players as the tournament fits in well with the Australian and Japanese professional golf circuits.”
