Emmy Award-Winner Screening in NZ Within Hours of Global Debut - ‘Homeland’ Season 2 Premieres October 1st on TV3

TV3 will broadcast season two of multi-award winning Homeland within 24 hours of its worldwide premiere. The highly anticipated drama/thriller returns to TV3 at 8.35pm next Monday (1 October), four hours after it goes to air in the USA.*

Homeland was named Best Drama Series at today’s Primetime Emmy Awards, with stars Clare Danes and Damian Lewis winning Lead Actress in a Drama Series, and Lead Actor in a Drama Series, respectively. The series also won Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series and Outstanding Casting for a Drama Series.

Nothing is as it seems in Homeland, an edge-of-your-seat thriller that follows the fortunes of Marine Sergeant Nicholas Brody (Damian Lewis), an American soldier returned to the US from years of captivity in Iraq, and Carrie Mathison, the driven, and unstable CIA officer who believes Brody is not an American Hero, but part of a sleeper cell planning a terrorist attack Mandy Patinkin plays Carrie’s mentor, Saul Berenson.

Other TV3 and FOUR programmes taking home Emmys today include Best Comedy Series Modern Family (TV3), Breaking Bad (FOUR) and American Horror Story (FOUR).

The Primetime Emmy Awards celebrate excellence in national primetime programming, awarding top honours at the annual creative arts and primetime awards ceremonies.

Homeland Season 2 premieres Monday 1 October, 8.35pm on TV3.

*Homeland premieres in the USA on Sunday 30 September, at 10pm ET/PT
