Another Successful Going Global Music Summit 2012!
Another Successful Going Global Music Summit 2012!
12th September 2012
IMNZ and NZ Music Commission are pleased to report the success of the 2012 Going Global Music Summit that was held in Wellington, Auckland and Christchurch. Over three days, delegates from the USA, Australia and the UK held music industry panel sessions in front of hundreds of attendees. In addition to the valued information shared with participants, a series of live music showcases highlighted 25 New Zealand artists across a range of genres.
IMNZ's chair Ben Howe says "This year's Going Global event has continued to build further connections to our colleagues working overseas and is developing into a strong and highly valued cornerstone on the New Zealand music industry calendar."
Brooke Black, publicist with New York-based Big Hassle says "Going Global was one of the most well-run, informative, and inspiring experiences I've ever been fortunate enough to be a part of. It was easy to meet everyone and find my way around, I saw and heard a lot of great artists, met a lot of innovative and like-minded individuals in the music industry, and learned a lot about New Zealand culture as a whole. I'm looking forward to continuing the relationships with the connections I've made here and hope to be back again soon.”
IMNZ believes the Going Global Music Summit 2012 has raised the bar of what to expect from this kind of event and we look forward to producing next year's event.
GOING GLOBAL MUSIC SUMMIT 2012 was proudly brought to you by Independent Music New Zealand in partnership with the NZ Music Commission and proudly supported by CHART, Mighty Mighty, San Francisco Bath House, 98.5RDU, Dux Live, CPIT, CJ’s Musicworks Christchurch, Native Tongue Music Publishing and the British Council.
