Grand opening of local exhibition in Ashburton
Media Release 05.09.12
There was a great turn out to the exhibition opening of Impressions by Ten, Canterbury Artists on Location on Saturday. Over 100 people were at the Gallery admiring the artwork, and enjoying the fine wine, and delicious food.
Several pieces have already sold and the exhibition has proved popular with locals and out of towners alike, with many
art lovers making the trip from Christchurch or Timaru to view this fantastic local display of talent.
"For many years we have been travelling afar and honing our skills in order to capture the light, the moods, the
exceptionally beautiful countryside, and many precious moments. Dedicated to our craft, we find ourselves painting in
all kinds of weather and on many a different location, each days painting is an adventure in itself, and to have perfect
weather, and a finished piece of work is a real bonus.
We welcome you to come and share our experiences of fun, laughter and artistic endeavours."
Sally Hope, Debbie Lambert, Ngaio Mckee, Susie Millichamp, Bronwyn Shimmin, Sue Simpson, Karen Smith, Jac Sparks, Alison
Ramsay, and Ben Woollcombe all feature in this landscape group exhibition.
During the course of the exhibition several of the artists will present floor talks at the Gallery. Artist’s will
discuss painting on location, their artistic career, and will talk about the artworks featured in the exhibition. Floor
talks are free, light refreshments will be served. All welcome. Please contact the Gallery for information on dates and
times.
