SKYCITY BREAKERS
HAMILTON GAME – TWO WEEKS TO TIP OFF!
ANBL champions SKYCITY Breakers only North Island pre-season game in Hamilton is just two weeks away and it looks like Claudelands Arena will be running at full capacity! On Saturday September 15th, with their full playing roster of stars including Cedric Jackson Tom Abercrombie, CJ Bruton, Dillon Boucher, Mika Vukona and Daryl Corletto, the Breakers are looking to be in winning form against the Wollongong Hawks as they head into the season proper.
The game tip off time has been brought forward to 5pm because at 7.30pm that night the mighty All Blacks take on South Africa and now fans can check out NZ’s two most successful sports teams back to back.
Come early to be part of the build-up because pre-game entertainment includes chart topping artist Massad, a hot dance squad, secondary school curtain raiser, 3 on 3 demonstration, games, giveaways, and plenty more.
MASSAD
Back to perform live centre court, Massad is fresh from a recent Australian trip which saw him writing and recording with two of Australia’s best songwriters - Michael Szumowski and Stuart Crichton. Michael is a multi-award winning artist that has written and produced with numerous acts globally while Stuart has worked with artists such as Kylie Minogue, Delta Goodrem, Guy Sebastian, Vanessa Amorosi, Pet Shop Boys and Sugababes. Massad’s debut single Tear My Heart Out went to #3 on the NZ charts and, with the follow up Forget About Me, made the IMNZ top 10 airplay charts. He has just released his third single, Waiting from his Overture EP. http://www.letthepeoplespeak.tv/artists/massad
3 ON 3 BASKETEBALL
3 on 3 is a high octane game of lateral speed and fitness and is recognised as a stand-alone game these days with its own world championship! Did you know that in 2011, New Zealand were world champions?
You will see a demonstration by members of the New Zealand Under 17 3 on 3 training squad preparing for the Australian Youth Olympic Festival in Sydney, January 18-20 (2013).
WAIKATO SECONDARY SCHOOLS BASKETBALL
A Secondary Schools competition between two of the best teams gives the chance to see the future of New Zealand basketball.
CLAUDELANDS CHEER SQUAD will be turning up the heat on our Australian visitors plus its rumoured there will be a guest from the BLUE SEPTEMBER (www.blueseptember.org.nz) campaign!
