Kathryn Wilson offers sneak preview of latest project at Fashion Week
Auckland, 3 September 2012 – New Zealand’s premier footwear designer Kathryn Wilson has been announced as Ronald
McDonald House Auckland’s ambassador for Fashion Week.
The charity will be hosting a Designer Selection Show on the last Saturday night of Fashion Weekend, where Kathryn will
give a few lucky guests a sneak preview of her latest collaborative project with some of New Zealand’s most loved and
iconic New Zealand artists.
“I am delighted to be a House Ambassador and our first foray together couldn’t be more fitting as I’ll be supporting
RMHA’s Night of Fashion Event at New Zealand Fashion Week,” says Kathryn Wilson
“I met Ronald McDonald House Auckland’s CEO Wayne at a charity dinner one night and was shocked to learn that it costs
in excess of $4 million each year to run the House. I decided there and then that I wanted to get involved and help this
remarkable charity in whatever way I could.”
The charity is hosting a Designer Selection Show gala event that includes a cocktail reception and entertainment. Open
to the public, all money raised from ticket sales goes towards the development of phase two of the Trust’s Grafton Mews
family accommodation facility.
“I look forward to helping raise the profile of Ronald McDonald House Auckland and we have lots more projects in the
pipeline so watch this space!” adds Kathryn.
