The Lion Foundation Netball Champs start this weekend as the first of the Round Robin match ups take to the court.
The Champs, which have bred firece competition since their inception in 1926, include four rounds of Round Robin play in various towns followed by FInals Week, which will be held at TECT Arena Tauranga 3rd-5th October.
The Lion Foundation Netball Champs provides another opportunity for players to challenge themselves at this level in front of New Zealand Selectors and ANZ Championship Franchise coaches.
At the end of the Lion Foundation Netball Champs the NZU21 squad for the World Youth Championship will be named, as well as the National Accelerant Squad for 2012/2013

As per previous years the Lion Foundation Netball Champs is divided into two divisions as per below:
Division 1
Canterbury Waikato*
Otago Wellington
Auckland Waitakere Bay of Plenty
*Waikato were promoted to Div One after they defeated Southland in the Promotion/Relegation match in 2011.
Division 2
Southland* Western
Tasman Eastern
North Counties Manukau
*Southland were moved to Div Two after they were defeated by Waikato in the Promotion/Relegation match in 2011.
