Wellington section of National Poetry Slam calls for entries
Poets from around Wellington are called to compete in the second national poetry slam, which could win them a trip to Australia.
A poetry slam is a competition at which poets read or recite original work. Wellington poets – whether they’re hip-hop artists, performance poets or page writers – will compete head to head in three heats.
Heat winners compete at the Wellington regional final on 21 September. From here, the winning poets compete nationally. The top three New Zealand poetry slammers then fly to Australia to compete in their National Poetry Slam.
