Nicky Pellegrino Talks About Latest Novel At City Library
Dunedin (Tuesday 28 August 2012) – Bestselling author, Nicky Pellegrino, will be at the Dunedin City Library on Monday 3
September from 7.00pm, to talk about her latest novel, When in Rome.
Pellegrino, a regular columnist for NZ Woman’s Weekly and the NZ Herald, releases her latest novel today, and it is expected to be as popular as her past offerings; including Recipe for Life (2010) and The Italian Wedding (2009), which spent more than thirty weeks in the New Zealand bestsellers chart.
Born and raised in Liverpool, England; Pellegrino’s Italian father instilled in his daughter a passion for his home
country, with regular visits to his family, and the food that is synonymous with Italy. When she met and married a New
Zealander, her heart may have moved across the globe, but her connections to Italy remained strong, and holiday time is
now hoarded so that Pellegrino can return, to reunite with family, reconnect with the food and gather inspiration.
When in Rome is set in the glamorous ‘La Dolce Vita’ era of the 1950s, and follows the exploits of Seraphina, a young woman scraping
a living as a busker, with her sisters, on the streets of Rome. When she falls in love with two difficult men, she
experiences both joy and heartbreak, and finds her own future is at risk from the difficult choices she has to make.
Pellegrino promises to be a warm and engaging speaker, and audience members will be free to ask questions, purchase
copies of her work, and bring along their own collection to be personally signed.
