Caped crusader to welcome Olympic athletes with black gold in Christchurch
Christchurch based superhero Flatman plans to delight locals once again, by attending the welcome home ceremony for over
one hundred Kiwi Olympians in Spreydon tomorrow. Flatman will award a few lucky Cantabrians with PAK’nSAVE Rescue packs,
containing a jar of much sort after but currently hard to locate Marmite.
Marmite ran dry in March and rather than sell their last remaining supply, PAK’nSAVE, one of New Zealand’s largest
supermarket brands has been rewarding lucky and deserving Kiwis with PAK’nSAVE rescue packs containing Vogels, butter
and of course a jar of much loved Marmite.
Steve Anderson CEO, Foodstuffs South Island says, “The people of Christchurch continue to face tough times as we
re-build the city so it’s great to come across characters like Flatman whose sole purpose is to spread a bit of joy and
goodwill – we’re thrilled to be able to support him.”
Flatman and his loyal sidekick Quake Kid have already surprised flatters and families all around the quake damaged city
with their PAK’nSAVE Rescue deliveries while earlier this month, Kiwi Olympic medal winners were awarded PAK’nSAVE
Rescue packs containing black gold for their efforts at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Sanitarium, the company that makes Marmite, has confirmed that due to the damage sustained in the Christchurch
earthquakes, the factory is now anticipated to begin production later this year, so Kiwis will have a little longer to
wait before a steady supply will be back on shelves.
Marmite lovers should follow the team at twitter.com/PAKnSAVErescue to keep an eye on the next PAK’nSAVE Rescue delivery.
Flatman will be at the athlete welcome home ceremony at Pioneer Recreation and Sport Centre in Spreydon from 12pm and in
nearby Centennial Park after the ceremony as athletes meet with fans and sign autographs.
