eAudiobooks now available at Dunedin Public Libraries
Dunedin, 23 August 2012 – The Dunedin Public Libraries has supplemented its very popular talking book collection with a small (but growing) collection of digital eAudiobooks, available at www.dunedinlibraries.govt.nz.
Library members can browse, borrow, download and transfer the files to an mp3 player from anywhere, using their Library card number and PIN. The service is device-neutral so eAudiobooks can play on any mp3-compatible devices, including phones.
The 250 titles available include Kokoda by Peter Fitzsimmons, Dream Hunter by Elizabeth Knox, Once by Morris Gleitzman (for the kids), Monsoon by Di Morrissey, The Dead of the Night by John Marsden, meaning there is something to suit most tastes.
There is a limit of one title at a time and the lending period is two weeks after which customers are responsible for deleting the title from their device. The file can take 10-30 minutes to download although it is quick to transfer to a portable device.
The service is provided by Australian publisher Bolinda which releases new titles each month for libraries to choose from.
