Share the history, be part of our future
When the R crew held their very first festival at Waohika Estate in 2003 they had no way of knowing if they could pull it off, let alone how successful and loved it would eventually become. Now heading toward their 10th New Year festival, organisers are ecstatic about the calibre of artists they are bringing to Gisborne.
“Our continued success is really a testament to the support we’ve had from festival goers across New Zealand. Artists love playing here, they have the happiest, most enthusiastic group of music lovers to play for in an unbeatable setting… it’s no wonder we’re able to keep booking amazing acts like this year after year.” – Hamish Pinkham, Festival Director and R founder.
New Record Breaking Sales
With two thirds of tickets (over 17,000) already sold before the release of a single artist, organisers know that this year’s crowd will be anticipating the best festival yet and they are ready to deliver it. This could be the first time R sells out before hitting the ground on the 29th.

Rhythm and Alps is proud to announce new additions to their already impressive line-up. Netsky LIVE will be bringing his full band and is co-headlining alongside SBTRKT LIVE in the Alpine Arena. Joining them at Terrace Downs resort will be Phaelah, JStar, and Kamandi.
R are excited to be working with media partners TVNZU, ZM, and Spotify. We’d also like to thank our proud sponsors Adidas, Pump, Red Bull Music Academy, CC & Dry, Russian Standard, Jim Beam, Fruju, Jagermeister and Vodafone.
