Brush twice a day so your partner doesn’t stray
New Zealand adult toy retailer, Adulttoymegastore co.nz, has uncovered our biggest turn offs, and bad breath is at the top of the list. According to the latest results from
their annual Mega Kiwi Sex Survey, women in particular want their partners to get close with the Colgate. Kiwi women also find body odour unappealing,
followed by smoking. Kiwi men find smoking even less attractive, topping the list of their biggest turn offs, followed
by nagging and bad breath.
The survey also delved deep into our relationships, revealing that single New Zealanders attribute their singledom to
the lack of a dating culture in our nation. Both male and female respondents felt that finding a partner in New Zealand
is made difficult because we tend not to encourage dating. However, both genders indicated they might find it difficult
to find someone to take to the flicks, with an aggrieved 25.2% of women and 14.5% of men believing that finding a
partner was impeded by the fact that ‘all the good ones are taken.’
If you are looking for a partner though, where should you go? According to the survey results, don’t stray far from your
buddies. Both men and women thought the most successful way to meet a new romantic potential is through their friends,
because well, they’ll be there for you.
Online dating is also on the increase as a popular means for courting people of both the opposite and same sex. Gay male
respondents in particular rated online dating as their preferred method for meeting new mates. It seems internet dating
also becomes a more viable means for finding a partner as we age with 25% of respondents in the 40-44 age group deeming
it the best method to meet new partners but only 8% of respondents in the 18-24 age group saying the same.
You can turn your bananas over however, because neither gender considered the supermarket to be a profitable place for
romance. And the workplace was also surprisingly underrated as a place to find a compatible partner only garnering 7.8%
support.
The survey also revealed some alarming statistics about our infidelity rates that are bound to make Kristen Stewart feel
better, but maybe not your wife. A staggering 1 in 3 of the 1500 respondents to the survey confessed to having cheated
on a partner. The results also revealed some cheating hot spots in the country, with 50% of respondents from Gisborne
and 47.8% of respondents from Napier admitting to an infidelity.
These results are the second in the series from the Adulttoymegstore.co.nz Mega Kiwi Sex Survey to be released this year. Adulttoymegastore.co.nz Marketing Manager, Catherine Fitzgerald, says the survey will be an
annual event, “Our goal is to build a detailed picture of New Zealander’s sexual identities, habits, attitudes and
behaviours that we can all learn from.”
