Andrew Waite Awarded Bruce McLaren Trophy
Current NZ V8 Ute Champion, and Tasman Motorsports Group V8 SuperTourer co-driver Andrew Waite, has been awarded the Auckland Car Club’s Bruce McLaren Trophy for ‘Racing Endeavour.’
Waite is one of the few people to win the award more than once having previously been awarded it in 2008.
Previous winners include Ross Stone, Paul Radisich, Scott Dixon and Daniel Gaunt.
“It's an honor to win this trophy again, having my name alongside someone like Scott Dixon is fantastic, I have looked up to most of the names on the trophy since I was a kid,” says Waite.
Waite teams up with Daniel Gaunt in the Tasman Motorsports Group V8 SuperTourer at the first endurance race of the season at Taupo, September 1-2.
“All going well, hopefully we’ll have another piece of silver to sit next to this one.”
