Toyota ambassador Valerie Adams wins silver
Toyota New Zealand congratulates its newest ambassador, champion shot putter Valerie Adams, on winning a silver medal early this morning, New Zealand time.
In an impressive final, Valerie’s best throw of 20.70 metres fell just behind her rival Nadzeya Ostapchuk from Belarus who took the top spot.
Valerie had remained unbeaten in women’s shot put since 2007 and this latest achievement is another addition to a remarkable track record which includes gold at Beijing in 2008, as well as two Commonwealth Games events and three World Championship titles.
Toyota New Zealand General Manager of Marketing, Neeraj Lala, said Valerie is an incredible athlete who has remained at the top of her chosen sport for many years. “Toyota is proud to support such an inspirational competitor whose dedication and hard work has placed her and New Zealand on the world stage once again.”
Neeraj Lala said the team at Toyota, together with the rest of New Zealand, toasts the achievements of Valerie and those of other Kiwi athletes, and looks forward to their return from the Games.
