Honouring Margaret Mahy (1936 - 2012)
In honour of this brilliant and beloved author, a group of NZ writers and illustrators are co-ordinating a nationwide
read-aloud. There may also be events organised in Australia and other countries.
On August 11, libraries - and other venues - all around the country will host writers, illustrators, and other
enthusiasts reading aloud from their favourite Margaret Mahy books.
Details of each local event will be posted on the Events everywhere page as they are confirmed.
If you can't make it to one of the library events, create your own (see left), or join in at around 11am on the 11th by
reading your favourite Margaret Mahy - wherever you may be!
