Sealord New Zealand Water Safety Awards 2012

Nominations are now being sought for the Sealord New Zealand Water Safety Awards for 2012.

The Awards were first introduced in 2009 by Water Safety New Zealand (WSNZ) to recognise and acknowledge excellence, achievement and innovation in water safety.

WSNZ Chief Executive, Matt Claridge opened the call for nominations and urged all working in the water safety sector as well as interested members of the public to become involved and nominate organisations or individuals for their contribution towards keeping our people safe in, on and around the water.

“The Awards work to establish a culture of excellence at a community, regional and national level. They acknowledge those who are achieving great things and are an opportunity for national recognition and an occasion to share success”.

“As in previous years we anticipate entries across a wide range of programmes, policies and campaigns. However no project is too big or too small to be considered. Whether it’s a grassroots initiative or a national policy, if it fits the Awards criteria, we look forward to receiving entries’ says Mr Claridge.

Sealord has sponsored the Awards for the last two years and understands that it is passionate people and their organisations that make the most difference in helping to keep people safe in and around the water.

“Safety is an essential area of focus for Sealord’s business, so supporting water safety heroes in the New Zealand community makes perfect sense,” said Sealord General Manager New Zealand Marketing, Stuart Yorston.
