Christchurch’s Ruby Turnbull win Queensland squash title
Christchurch’s Ruby Turnbull has won the Queensland state under-13 squash championships on the Gold Coast.
Under the guidance of coach Adam Odering, Turnbull, who has only just turned 12, beat Queensland’s Courtney Mather in straight sets in the final. She also came runner up in the girls under-15 event, upsetting the number two seed in the semi final 17-15 in the fifth set.
Turnbull, from the Christchurch Football Squash Club, lost to Lakeesha Rarere in the final.
