The first $5,000 diamond has been found in the Wattie’s Very Special Soup ‘Find the Diamonds’ campaign, approximately
four weeks after the first promotional can hit supermarket shelves!. Retired couple, Ben and Pat Sime from Bay of Plenty
were shocked at seeing the winning message - located under the inside of the Wattie’s Very Special Chinese Chicken & Corn soup can lid – bought from New World Kawerau and are over the moon to have won.
“I was heating up the soup in the microwave and didn’t even check the lid initially, it was Ben who checked it and told
me we had won! I had to do a double take and read the message a few times over, as I just couldn’t believe it. It’s
finally starting to sink in now, we’ve never won anything of this value before!” says Pat.
“We buy Wattie’s Very Special Soup quite often, at least twice a week, my favourite flavour is the Thai Spicy Pumpkin,
it’s delicious. Thanks Wattie’s, we’re very happy!” says Pat.”
The ‘Find the Diamonds’ nationwide hunt began mid-May - when the first promotional can of Wattie’s Very Special soup hit
the supermarket shelves. Simply buy specially marked cans of Wattie’s Very Special Soup (both 520g & 535g) and check under the lid to see if you’ve won.
With one diamond already gone, there are still nine diamonds to be found – so make sure you eat your soup this winter,
because a can in your pantry could be one of the lucky winners!
Each stunning diamond is half a carat ideal cut, white H colour, valued at $5,000 – perfect set in a bracelet, necklace
or even a gorgeous diamond ring – giving you the choice on how you want to set it. The prize also comes complete with a
GIA laboratory certificate and display case. Claims must be made by 29th April 2013. Pat and Ben are still soaking in
the win and haven’t yet decided what they will do with the diamond.
