Can’t Help Myself – by the v Motion Project

Can’t Help Myself by The V Motion Project, a song created solely by the body’s movement, has been released today, and is available for download at v.co.nz.

On May 29th, V Energy brought together a group of guys including Music Producer, Joel Little (of Goodnight Nurse and Kids of 88 fame), and Motion Artist, Josh Cesan, and gave them one goal; to create music using only the body’s movement. Joel, Josh and the team took the challenge, basing themselves at a warehouse in the back streets of Grey Lynn where they attempted to hack-together Kinect technology and music-making software, Ableton, to create the ultimate instrument – using their bodies to make music.

The result is 'Can't Help Myself,' an exceptionally risky and ambitious challenge posed by V to music producer Joel Little to create and perform a track using only the body's movement. With the help of technology experts, motion graphic artists, dancers, Burundi drummers, guitarists, marching bands and the vocal talent of Brandon Black from The Wyld, 'Can't Help Myself' was created, and has become a true multimedia collaboration between experts in various fields.
