AHoriBuzz & Guests At The Whiskey

AHoriBuzz & Guests At The Whiskey
with Fran & Laughton Kora plus Ria Hall & Riki Gooch
Thursday 30 May

After blowing away unsuspecting crowds at almost every festival this summer, AHoriBuzz will be playing one special show to close NZ Music Month at The Whiskey…and they’re bringing a bunch of mates!

The brainchild of the enigmatic Aaron Tokona (Cairo Knife Fight / Weta), AHoriBuzz is a jam band of sorts featuring a rotating line up of talented musicians.

The AHoriBuzz line up for The Whiskey will feature: Aaron leading the outfit on vocals, MPC and guitar, Riki Gooch (Eru Dangerspiel) on drums, soul sister LA Mitchell (Fly My Pretties, Dukes) on keys and vocals and Aaron’s cousin Hori on bass. Plus new guests and support acts, Fran and Laughton Kora and Ria Hall are set to join the group – if they can fit on stage.

Laughton & Fran Kora:
Well known musical brothers and band mates in the juggernaut that is Kora, Laughton and Fran will be joining forces in an intimate acoustic set.

Ria Hall & Riki Gooch:
After teaming up to create Ria Hall’s critically acclaimed self-titled EP, Hall and her producer, Riki Gooch, will be uniting once again to serve up tracks drenched in soul, roots and hip hop.

Having delivered an inspiring performance at the Rugby World Cup 2011, performing as part of Eru Dangerspiel, and providing backing vocals for the 2010 reunion shows of the iconic Trinity Roots; Ria Hall has proven herself as a true talent and one to definitely be watched.
