Will Wellington Own the World Stage?
Will Wellington Own the World Stage?
The Global Battle of the Bands (GBOB) is a huge worldwide event with over 30 countries involved and a first prize is worth US$100,000! Wellington bands now have the chance of a lifetime to get noticed and make it big through this international competition.
2011 saw an epic battle, with an overall Wellington winner ‘The Heathen Collective’. This band wowed the music industry judges, and made it nationally, where the best musicians from all over the country fought for a place in the Australasian Final. Wellington bands wanting the recognition they have been waiting for and a chance to represent New Zealand on the World Stage, must get in quick!
The Wellington Heat is on Saturday 9 June from 2pm. Bands wanting to take part in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and a chance at the title of ‘Best New Band in the World’ need to contact organisers now by emailing redletter@bigpond.com or calling the Sydney number of +612 9519 3978.
Not only does the Australasian Finalist get flown overseas to the World Final (all expenses paid), but there are also lots of other great prizes to be won. With GigLaunch subscriptions, FujiFilm cameras and cool Converse Chuck Taylor shoes on offer, local bands that think they have what it takes, would be crazy to pass it up!
Music lovers should come along and check out the Heat too, and vote for their favorite band. Who knows, maybe the band they vote for, will be New Zealand and the World’s next big thing!
