Another Walker Goes for Gold in Olympic Year

Another Walker Goes for Gold in Olympic Year at Musicoz 2012 in Sydney Tomorrow

WHAT: 2012 Musicoz Awards - www.musicoz.org

WHERE: Sydney Opera House

WHEN: Tuesday, 15 May 2012, 8pm

Timothy Walker, youngest son of New Zealand Olympic legend and former world mile record holder, Sir John Walker, gets his chance to go for Gold tomorrow in Sydney, at a venue far removed from any Olympic stadium.

Tim, 23, will instead walk the red carpet as a finalist in THREE Categories at the 2012 Musicoz Awards staged in the Sydney Opera House. The Musicoz Awards cover 18 genres of music which this year attracted more than 5000 entries. The awards are regarded as the biggest and most credible for unsigned bands and independent artists in Australasia.

The 3 Categories he is a finalist in are:
- Acoustic Singer/Songwriter of the Year
- Best Music Video
- International Artist of the Year
-
While he was keen on sport at school and excelled in rugby and tennis, music has been his real passion since leaving college.

Tim, who also plays guitar and writes his own music, hopes to release his debut album “You/Me” later this year. The album includes several tracks where he is accompanied by eldest sister Elizabeth, an accomplished classical singer.

His acoustic folk-rock style has attracted considerable interest and last year Tim was chosen to support Greg Johnson in Auckland during his nationwide ‘Small Towns & Ball Gowns’ sell-out tour.
