International Music Competition Calling for Bands

International Music Competition Calling for Bands!

The Global Battle of the Bands (GBOB) (www.gbob.com) is heading to Bar Medusa for the 2012 Wellington Heat!

GBOB is a huge international event with over
30 countries involved. The first prize is worth US$100,000 and gives the winners the title of ‘Best New Band in the World’!

Wellington bands wanting a head start in their music career, and a chance to play on the World Stage, should apply to take part in the Global Battle of the Bands. GBOB is looking for the next Shihad, Fur Patrol or Rhombus to continue the city’s history of producing top international acts. Great original bands that have not yet received the recognition they deserve, now have the chance to make it big through GBOB.

The Wellington Heat will be conducted on Saturday 9 June from 2pm. It will be a wicked event that should not be missed! Bands wanting to take part in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity need to contact organisers now by emailing redletter@bigpond.com or calling the Sydney number of +612 9519 3978.

As well as the trip overseas, there are lots of other great prizes to be won in GBOB. These include GigLaunch subscriptions, FujiFilm cameras and Converse Chuck Taylor shoes…how cool is that?!

Music lovers should make sure they get to the show too, so they can check out the best bands Wellington has to offer, and to support the one they like most! It will be exciting to see which of them gets through, and there will be cool audience giveaways!
