All Black Joins New Code On Maori Television
All Black Liam Messam has joined a new team – on the couch – as part of Maori Television’s live sports show, CODE, which starts next week.
The primetime sports chat show premieres for 2012 on Thursday, 3 May at 8.30pm. Repeats of the live show will screen every Sunday at 4.00pm.
Now back for its eighth season, CODE features familiar faces, anchor Jenny-May Coffin and celebrity rugby and league co-hosts Glen “Oz” Osborne, Awen Guttenbeil, Wairangi Koopu and Karl Te Nana.
Plus this year, the team is excited to welcome current Waikato Chiefs captain, sevens star and All Black, Liam Messam to the CODE couch.
When he’s not on rugby duties, Messam will be part of the CODE live recordings and he’ll bring a unique inside look at professional sports.
Producers Piri Wano and Peter Tainui say CODE is a vibrant and exciting show that represents sports entertainment at its best.
“There is no other show in the country filmed live in front of a studio audience that mixes in-depth sporting interviews with kiwi humour,” says Tainui.
“We also have the extra element of being live and all our presenters are current and former sporting stars. This creates an atmosphere that’s hard to match.”
This latest season of CODE plays host to current sports personalities, up-and-coming stars of the future, legends and grassroots heroes.
All this plus live in studio sporting demonstrations, competitions and performances from some of Aotearoa’s biggest music acts.
The first episode will feature Lisa Carrington, (Te Aitanga-a-Mahaki) K1 200m World Champion and Senior Maori Sportswoman of the Year; Christian Huriwai (Ngapuhi, Ngati Porou) current street uni-cycling World Champion and a performance by New Zealand hip hop crew “Home Brew”.
Tune in to Maori Television on Thursday 3 May at 8.30pm and join the CODE team for an hour sporting madness and hilarity.
