The Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Trust (GRG) is pleased to announce it will be holding its annual training conference in Wellington next week; and invites any Grandparents raising Grandchildren to attend and learn more about what the trust has to offer.
The Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Trust New Zealand is a charitable trust operating throughout New Zealand providing information, advice, support and advocacy for grandparents and other kin raising grand/kin children where the birth parents are unable to. GRG is keen to raise its profile throughout the country to ensure Grandparents are aware there is support available.

“While we have a large member base, we know there are many more Grandparents raising Grandchildren out there who we are keen to offer support to,” says Trust CEO, Geoff Lawson.
“We also know that many Grandparents in this situation face isolation and loneliness so we’re keen to demonstrate how our local support groups and informal coffee groups provide friendly, secure and supportive environments for our members.”
The trust has over 5,000 members and a network of support groups throughout the country, offering counselling, support, and workshops to grandparents raising grandchildren. GRG also works closely
with Child Youth & Family and Work & Income NZ, assisting families with regard to benefits available, childcare and guardianship.
