Adventure into Capital E’s Carnival of Creativity these holidays and there’s no doubt you’ll leave with some wonderful new skills, wacky ideas and your arms full of inventive creations!

Families can enjoy the hustle and bustle of creativeness in motion as they choose which colourful giant tepee to visit first – make animal puppets in the Purple Pavilion, recycled art in the Mint Marquee, or put on a cape and discover unique super-hero dance moves in the Tangerine Top! There’ll be jewellery making, juggling, ukulele playing, storytelling, yummy treats to create and they can even master some mime in a tepee where everything will be turning slow motion! Phew…and if that wasn’t enough there will be three performances every day from some of Wellington’s most talented artists.

In between tepee visiting and performances, join Capital E’s artist-in-residence, Simon Gray as he helps families create their own version of Wellington made entirely of cardboard! Visit the Capital E website to follow the progress of Let’s Play City in a blog dedicated to the project and all things creatively cardboard!
Tue 10 – Sat 21 April, 10am – 4pm.

Don’t miss out on Capital E’s one-off workshops! The whole family can exercise their funny bones and have a giggle with internationally acclaimed clown Fraser Hooper. He has delighted thousands of audiences across the globe, from sell out shows in the UK to appearances in street festivals across Europe and Australasia. Now Wellington families have the chance to learn from the best in two workshops dedicated to the art of Clowning Around. Learn how to direct hilarious comedy routines that are sure to be a winner at family gatherings!

Then the world is everyone’s movie set in Capital E’s Creative Technology workshops. Children aged eight and over can make their own fantasy movie in the SoundHouse multimedia studio using the locations, characters and 3D graphics from computer games. Adventure into a faraway kingdom to retrieve a missing gem, discover the secret to immortality, or save a forest from invading bandits – the participants decide their tale then bring it to life on screen! Get the popcorn at the ready… In the OnTV Studio children can spend the day creating the movie trailer to their very own movie. Fabricate the plot to an exceptional Oscar-winning blockbuster and then turn it into a trailer for the movie of the year!
