Musicians Perform For Melanoma’s ‘Death to Cancer’ Gig
Tim Finn, Don McGlashan, Black River Drive and Villainy are among the collection of Kiwi musicians who will be
performing at the Melanoma Foundation’s “Death to Cancer” rock gig, on Saturday 31 March.
The 12-hour event which will run from 2pm until 2am at Auckland’s Q theatre on Queen Street is the sign off for Melanoma
March, the hero month in which the Foundation focuses on fundraising and driving awareness about Melanoma and the
importance of early detection.
MC for the “Death to Cancer” gig, Mikey Havoc, says: “It’s scary that New Zealand has one of the highest rate sof
Melanoma in the world, so hopefully this gig will help raise some funds for the Foundation, so they can keep doing the
great work they’re doing.”
Fred Soar, Chairman of the Melanoma Foundation of New Zealand, adds: “Melanoma not only scars those who have been
diagnosed, but also their families and everyone around them. This is a great way for friends, families and supporters to
get together and have some fun while helping to raise some money for the Foundation.”
Tickets to the event are $50 for either the 2pm-8pm session or the 8pm-2am session or if you want to attend both only

In addition to the “Death to Cancer” event at the end of this month, there are a range of men’s and women’s tees
promoting the event featuring the skull design. Only $45 these can be purchased from www.deathtocancer.printmighty.co.nz
Proceeds from the event and the t-shirt sales will help fund improved support services and information for people
diagnosed with melanoma, along with public awareness campaigns to help prevent the occurrence of melanoma in New
Zealand.
