Paul Redican: Urban Topographies, and Shannon Novak: Tone Connections open at the Pah Homestead, TSB Bank Wallace Arts
Centre.
Combined Exhibition Opening: 26 March 2012, 6pm.
Paul Redican: Urban Topographies will be exhibited in the Photography Gallery from the 27th March to the 27th of May
2012.
Wellington-based photographer Paul Redican will exhibit a series of colour images exploring the urban environment and
its inhabitants. Urban Topographies is a body of works based on a project undertaken by Redican in Hong Kong in 2006 and 2007. Whilst in Hong Kong Redican
was inspired by one of the world’s most densely populated urban centers and found it a rich environment to focus on both
physical public spaces and the inhabitants of the region.
Shannon Novak: Tone Connections will be exhibited in the Audio Visual Room from the 27th March to the 20th of May 2012.
Following the success of the multi-space installation One Song, Three Composers created at CentralTrak, The University of Texas at Dallas Artists Residency, Auckland based artist Shannon Novak will
create a sound network through mixed media made up of a primary exhibition space in the AV Room at the Pah Homestead,
inner satellite spaces (other spaces within the Pah Homestead), and outer satellite spaces (other spaces in Auckland
linked to the Pah Homestead).

Novak’s work explores the interrelationships between sound, colour, form, time, space, and social context. Novak has
developed large-scale public installations including work on a light box in Britomart, a pyramid in Queenstown, and the
Clock Tower in New Plymouth. He has also created work abroad including a site-specific installation in Denver, USA, and
a cross-space installation that included gallery spaces in Australia, Italy, Belgium, Wales, Nigeria, Iceland, South
Africa, USA and UAE.
The Pah Homestead, TSB Bank Wallace Art Centre’s opening hours are Tuesday – Friday 10am till 3pm, Saturday - Sunday
10am till 5pm. Entry is by donation.
