CHRISTCHURCH TRIATHLETE BRAVES SERIOUS INJURIES TO MAKE WELLINGTON EVENT
Amongst the record near 900 triathletes on the start line in various events at this weekend’s final round of the Contact Tri Series will be one athlete who has undergone a little more than his share of pain just to be on the start line.
Aaron Billing has endured a nightmare year after a horrific crash left him close to paralysis and pondering suicide, let alone his future in the sport, but as has been the way for the people of Christchurch in recent times, his incredible determination will have him on the start line tomorrow morning and chasing a place in the New Zealand age group team for the 2012 World Championships to be held in Auckland in October.
