The Sou’westers are Liam Ryan (The Narcs), Aly Cook and Dean Heatherington (The Coalrangers).
Ryan made his name as a songwriter playing keyboards with gold record and TUI award winners The Narcs with whom he wrote a number of singles which charted in the 1980s: “You Took Me Heart and Soul’, “Diamonds on China” and “Missing In Action”. He has also had success writing singles for other artists including Midge Marsden (“One Wheel In The Sand”). Cook said "Its not often I get to perform my own songs in Nelson, Ive played in over a dozen overseas festivals in the last few months, so nice to perform at home . I am totally looking forward to The Boathouse and performing with Liam & Dean"

“We always look forward to working together and adding Dean’s incredible musicianship to the mix”, says Ryan. “The song is the basic unit of work for musicians – this is a chance for us to celebrate our own songs and the songs of some of great songwriters that have inspired us”.
