Clairvoyant Prediction Right – 30 Years Later!
An Auckland woman finally came into some money, 30 years after a clairvoyant predicted she would – thanks to a $50,000 windfall with Instant Kiwi’s $3 Cash in a Beat ticket.
The 76-year-old made the trip down to the Wellington NZ Lotteries’ office with her daughter to claim her prize today – and make the most out of the experience she’d been waiting for all these years!
“I recently said to my daughter that the clairvoyant was wrong – turns out I shouldn’t have doubted her, although it would’ve helped if she’d given me a ballpark time frame!” the winner jokes.
The belated win was pretty unbelievable too.
“I had lots of silver coins in my purse, so I emptied it out at the Lotto desk to buy the ticket – they must have thought I’d broken into a kiddie’s piggy bank!
“I scratched it at home and thought I’d won $5, then I kept seeing more and more zeros – that’s when I called my daughter.
“She didn’t believe me, and asked if I was wearing the right glasses. I reckon she thought I’d been drinking a bit too,” laughs the happy winner.
The winner is going to have a bit of a shopping spree in the capital, and says the rest will give her peace of mind for her future years.
The ticket was sold at West City Lotto in Henderson, Auckland. This is the second top prize to be claimed on the Cash in a Beat ticket, after a woman won last week and then proposed to her partner of 28 years. There are five top prizes still up for grabs.
The Cash in a Beat Instant Kiwi ticket is also part of joint promotion with radio station The Edge for the next seven weeks.
The Cash in The Beat promotion works by testing callers’ music knowledge by playing three song snippets. The player then names all three song titles as fast as they can to win whatever cash prize the countdown stops on – and with $80,000 up for grabs, it’s proving to be very popular.
