Go By Bike Day breakfasts in Auckland

Go By Bike Day breakfasts in Auckland

Aucklanders are encouraged to get on their bike this Wednesday 15 February for the annual celebratory Go By Bike Day breakfast events.

Go By Bike Day is a one-day event in February every year where people switch from cars, buses or trains and bike to work for a day.

In central Auckland the marquee breakfast event turns 15 and is located at the new venue, Wynyard Quarter on the waterfront.

Everyone who turns up on a bike at Wynyard Quarter between 6.30am and 9am receives a free breakfast. There will be live performances and displays, spot prizes and free bike checks. Cyclist enthusiast Jon Bridges will MC the full programme of entertainment.

Auckland Mayor Len Brown will once again jump on his bike and join the expected crowd of 700 cyclists.

At the same time breakfasts will be held at Takapuna, on the beach at Orewa, Mangere Bridge and along the Te Atatu North Western cycleway entrance.

Healthy breakfasts and snacks with the odd spot prizes to be won as well.
