Happiness at Sold-out Court Theatre
Happiness at Sold-out Court Theatre
The Court Theatre’s first show in its new venue has sold out. Over 13,000 people have seen Roger Hall’s comedy A SHORTCUT TO HAPPINESS in the new Addington theatre since it opened in December of last year, with the final seats to the production sold on Wednesday.
“The public response has been overwhelming,” Chief Executive Philip Aldridge says. “To see people’s expressions when they walk into the new theatre for the first time is wonderful.”
Reviews for The Court’s new theatre, constructed inside a former granary in 120 days, have been resoundingly positive, and the company has been lauded for reopening less than a year after losing their former home in the Arts Centre.
A SHORTCUT TO HAPPINESS closes on January
28, along with children’s show THE ELVES AND THE
SHOEMAKER. The next production at The Court Theatre, SIDE BY
SIDE BY SONDHEIM (a musical revue featuring David McPhail),
opens on February 11.
