Kiwi babies will be the first in the World to receive Olympic T-Shirts

Olympic 2012 T- shirts will be given to the first baby boy and girl to be born in 2012 in the Wellington region.

The British High Commissioner, Vicki Treadell, will be on hand to present the T-shirts and a bottle of champagne to the newborns.

Mrs Treadell is on standby for the call on New Year’s Day with details of the new arrivals. She plans to visit the newborns as soon as mother and baby are happy for visitors.

The Olympic T-shirts are being given out all over the world and the new Kiwis will be the first in the world to receive them. They mark the beginning of an exciting year for the UK in 2012. Not only will Britain host the 2012 Olympics and Paralympics but also celebrate the Queens’s Diamond Jubilee.
