TrustPower Santa Cave welcomes first visitors
Towncentre Taupo has opened the annual TrustPower Santa Cave, upstairs at Whitcoulls, and already Santa and his helpers have been inundated with Taupo children.
“We’ve given the TrustPower Santa Cave a new look for 2011,” explained Towncentre Taupo General Manager, Traceylee Hooton “and in two days we’ve welcomed literally hundreds of children, parents and caregivers, who have had their photo taken and told Santa what they’d like for Christmas.”
The TrustPower Santa Cave is now a true Christmas experience, with children entering a grotto filled with lights. It’s quite a magical place and is open until Christmas Eve, from 9.30am to 12.30pm and 2pm to 4pm on weekdays, and 10am to 2pm on Saturday and Sunday. It’s free to visit Santa and for $5 you can take away a photo as a memento.
Back again this year is the Gift Wrapping Centre that will be stationed outside Paper Plus on Heu Heu Street from 17 to 24 December.
“Thanks to the generosity of Taupo Paper Plus, the gift wrapping centre runs the week before Christmas,” said Ms Hooton. “Each day we have a different charity or community group running the gift wrapping centre. Anyone who wants their presents wrapped can pay a gold coin donation, and all the donations will go to the charity that has done the wrapping.”
The Gift Wrapping Centre will be situated outside Paper Plus every day until Christmas Eve, from 10am to 3pm.
