BNZ launches new Facebook photo competition
A new photography competition offers Kiwis a chance to own some of New Zealand’s best photographic artwork, while also sharing their own slice of New Zealand.
Over the next six months, BNZ is asking the public to submit via Facebook a photo of what defines their New Zealand. People will be able to view the submitted entries and vote for their favourite. At the end of each month the photograph with the most votes will be rewarded with a framed, professionally-taken photo by some of New Zealand’s best photographers.
Paul Suma, GM of BNZ’s Office of the CEO, says the competition forms part of the Bank’s 150 year anniversary celebrations but he also hopes it will provide an interesting insight into what Kiwis think defines New Zealand.
“We’re long-time supporters of the arts here at BNZ and we’ve taken on this project to not only celebrate being a part of New Zealand for 150 years, but to celebrate the creative spirit behind New Zealand’s artistic community. We’re expecting a diverse range of entries to match the diversity of our country’s landscapes and people.”
At the same time, BNZ is also expanding its social media team to better cater to the growing community of people who prefer to communicate with their bank via social media.
Erica Lloyd who heads up BNZ’s Corporate Affairs says, “More and more we’re seeing our customers approach us via Facebook, Twitter or Google+, so we’re working hard to make our social media channels rich and interesting places to visit, as well as a fast track to finding out about banking services or telling us what they think.”
The six framed images that are given to the winners will come from New Zealand celebrated contemporary artists Rene Vaile, David Shields, Deb Smith, Sam Montgomery, Karen Inderbitzen-Waller and Russ Flat.
New Zealanders can submit photographs of their New Zealand to BNZ’s Facebook page, www.facebook.com/bnzbank.
